1. How long does it take to charge the GC-01 Digitool Reader?
The integral lithium-ion battery takes 3 hours to fully charge from empty. The GC-01 reader is fully charged when the charge indicator on the GC-02 Docking Station turns green
2. How long does the lithium battery last after being fully charged?
The Digitool GC-01 Reader is equipped with an 1800mA hour lithium-ion battery and can operate for 6 month or 250,000 reads after charge. The reader indicates that the battery is low by beeping twice every two seconds
3. Is the battery replaceable?
No.
4. What is the memory capacity of the GC-01 Digitool Reader?
The GC-01 reader can store 8000 time stamped events
5. How do I now when the reader is full?
The three indicators (360 degree LED indicator, buzzer and vibrator operate to indicate that the GC-01 Digitool reader is full and no new button are registered.
6. Why can I not connect my GC-02 Digitool docking station?
Firstly ensure that the GC-02 Docking Station is connected to the PC via the GA-05 serial RS232 connection lead. If you do not have a 9 way RS232 connector on the back of your computer but do have a spare USB port, a "USB to Serial RS232" adapter can be fitted. You must then ascertain which "Com" port the serial connection has been associated with, e.g. Com 1, Com 2, Com 3 etc. This can be done by going to the Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel), then double click on the System icon, select the hardware tab, and click on the Device Manager button. Expand the hardware tree on the left hand side of the screen and select ports. The Com port allocations will then be visible. Once you know which "Com" port you are using, you must set the Com Options in the GS-01, GS-02 Digitool Lite\Call Centre software accordingly.
7. What windows program will the Digitool Reports Lite or Digitool Call Centre software applications run in?
Both software packages are fully compatible with Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP or Vista.
